The 52nd EDTNA/ERCA International Conference took place in Athens with brilliant participation from the Diaverum Portugal nursing team.

We share the testimony of Maria Arminda Tavares - Head Nurse at the Aveiro Unit and member of the Executive Committee of EDTNA/ERCA:

“It is with immense pride that, as a Diaverum Nurse and member of the EDTNA/ERCA Executive Committee, I celebrate the remarkable participation of Portuguese nurses in the 52nd EDTNA/ERCA International Conference. The participation of Diaverum nurses in this important international event reaffirms the quality of care we provide daily, based on innovation, technical-scientific knowledge and dedication.

During the three-day conference, our nurses gave an extraordinary demonstration of knowledge and commitment, presenting five oral communications with great clarity, scientific rigor and passion. Each presentation was an opportunity to highlight the innovative work we developed in our units, highlighting the essential contribution to the continuous improvement of care for people on hemodialysis. The professionalism and safety demonstrated by our nurses during their presentations were simply incredible, and reinforce the direct impact on the well-being of our patients, the main beneficiaries of our work.

From the Saldanha unit, Nurse Márcia Vandewalle presented the communication "Dermatological Health Assessment in End-Stage Renal Disease Patients Undergoing Dialysis"; from the Pombal unit, Nurse Ricardo Duarte stood out with "Nursing Practice to Implement the Buttonhole Technique and its Results: A Scoping Review". From the Figueira da Foz unit, Nurse João Ferreira impressed with the communications "Operationalization a Decision-Making Model for Assessing Arteriovenous Fistula Maturation and Choice of Cannulation Technique" and "Impact of Continuous Nursing Surveillance on Diabetic Patients in a Hemodialysis Population". Finally, from the Aveiro unit, Nurse Ana Marçalo gave the presentation "Life in Hemodialysis: Exploring Patients' Experiences with the Initial Arteriovenous Fistula Cannulation".

A special thank you to Diaverum Portugal, whose continuous and unconditional support allows us, year after year, to show the world the quality of nursing care we provide in our units.

It is with great anticipation that we await next year, when the 53rd EDTNA/ERCA International Conference will take place in the beautiful city of Porto, a unique opportunity to highlight, on national soil, the excellence of nursing practiced at Diaverum.”
