The Open Clinic took place last Sunday, December 15th at the Diaverum Linda-a-Velha, aimed at people undergoing treatment at the unit, their families and caregivers as well as some partners/entities.
This event aims to promote a moment of informal interaction between the unit's multidisciplinary team and the community to which it provides care on a daily basis.
The hosts Dr. Helena Boquinhas and Nurse Carlos Gonçalves, as well as the country director of Diaverum Portugal, Sofia Correia de Barros, spoke a few words to those present, nutritionist Dr. Leila Aguiar gave a practical presentation on water intake, followed by the testimony of two patients of the nocturnal hemodialysis shift.
During the event, the new treatment room for patients with hepatitis B was inaugurated.
We had the pleasure of having the presence of APIR in the person of its president José Miguel Correia.
During the 3 hours of the event and with a turnout of around 100 people, we reinforced the conviction of how important these moments of sharing knowledge and conviviality are.
