Everyone deserves a fulfilling life and true care
I drive a lot because I like shared management and being present at the clinics. I like to look people in the eye, always, preferably face to face. I like a hug, a smile, a coffee together, understanding how people are because sometimes posture or discomfort can only be seen in person.
What I like most about the organization is the team. From the first day I entered here I was received with affection and it has always been like this over these 6 years.
I feel that when I enter a clinic, the work of the Pharmacists is appreciated. We bring a happier, more welcoming environment and, that alone, is half a cure for the patient. I feel that true care is love and affection but, above all, concern.
I report a case in one of our clinics in which the patient did not come for treatment in the morning, having failed to respond to numerous attempts to contact him. At that moment, my Pharmacist colleague, together with the Social Worker, decided to drive to the patient's house in their own car. When they entered the patient's house, they realized that he had had a stroke and was lying on the floor and inanimate. The medical emergency was promptly called and took him to the hospital, having recovered from this episode. I think this example perfectly reflects what True Care is.
We have increasingly tried to diversify our offer in terms of patient support. We have an app where patients receive alerts when it is time to take their medication, where they can check the medication they are taking, for example.
When someone starts working at Diaverum, I always explain our dynamics: - "Here, you have the best you can have; you have a fantastic team that supports you in everything, you have a Pharmacy management that will support and train you, you will be able to contact patients directly and monitor their progress. Unlike a local pharmacy or a hospital, patients are more transient, with less space to create a connection.
When I told my father that I had chosen Pharmacy he told me: "you're going to be one of those people who always gets me in trouble!...". I replied: "No. I will be there to solve the problems!".
