On November 9th, Diaverum - Pombal Unit opened its doors to welcome patients, family members and partner entities.
With the main objective of clarifying and informing the families of people undergoing treatment in this unit, several panels were prepared, organized by the care team, where topics such as care for vascular access, the importance of vaccination, self- care and various aspects related to chronic kidney disease.
Those present at this initiative were also able to undergo screening for diabetes and high blood pressure, considered the most common causes of kidney disease, which as such, "make the prevention of this pathology so important", according to Dr. Ana Belmira Santos - Clinical Director of Diaverum Pombal.
For Head Nurse Ricardo Duarte, the objective of the open clinic was achieved: "we want people who do dialysis with us to be able to make the best decisions about their disease process, as well as their family members".
